University Credit Union - FIU - Security Alert

Dear Members,

Below are security alerts informing you of any phishing attempts that University Credit Union has been made aware of. If you answered to any of the below attempts, please contact our Call Center immediately at (786) 425-5000.

**UPDATE - August 31, 2017** - University Credit Union is aware of a recent Smishing (SMS Text phishing) attempt to many of our members. The content of the text includes the following information, "MSG: Your card has been temporarily locked. In order to unlock please call security staff at 1-888-283-0480"

**UPDATE - February 29th, 2016** - University Credit Union is aware of a new phishing message that some of our members are receiving. The message is being sent by both e-mail and/or SMS text message. Below is an excerpt of what the message looks like:

MSG:Issue detected on your CU visa card ( suspicious activity ) Call Customer Department now : 713-***-****

The phone number and message given is bogus and is actually attempting to direct you to an automated service that is NOT University Credit Union. The purpose of this is to attempt to acquire your debit card number, expiration date, CVV and PIN number. If you contacted this given number above, please reach out to our Call Center at (786)425-5000 immediately to request a new debit card.

**UPDATE - August 3rd, 2015** University Credit Union is aware of a new phishing email that some of our members have received today. Please see a copy of the email shown below. Do not respond to any email that asks you for your bank account information. That would never be asked of you by University Credit Union or any legitimate company.

We have become aware that some of our members are receiving phishing emails stating that their account has had unusual number of failed login attempts and the account has been locked. The email instructs you to click on the link to restore your account access.

The link is bogus and is actually directing you to another website that is not University Credit Union although the screen does appear to look like our site.

The purpose of this site is to gather your log in information so that the criminals can gain access to your account through e*branch.

If you replied to the following email, please notify our Call Center immediately so that we can reset your password to something new. You can reach us at 786.425.5000 8am - 5pm Monday through Friday.

We know convenience and flexibility is important to you. We have noticed that you have not logged on to verify your profile after our previous request.

For security purposes please logon within the next 24 hours if you would like to keep your User ID and Password active and retain the convenience of 24/7 access to your processing account activity.

Logon now to maintain online access to your account activity, or click the following URL :http://www.ucumiami.org/

Please keep in mind users that have not logged within the stated time above will be disabled from accessing their account.

This is to protect from unauthorized online access to your account.

For you service, you will always take $300USD from each transaction you receive from our customer and we will advise you on hiow and where to send the funds.
